I’m only going to make one post about this. It’s only going to be relevant for a month. Donate and help us have a good first print run.

I'm really excited with the way this first issue has shaped out. It’s lived up to the hype and surpassed a lot of my expectations. We have

• A new translation of transfeminist writing

• reports on practical transfeminist work

• analysis

• fiction

• poetry

• letters and community notices

under the headings of

• by-and-for trans women transfeminist activism

• critical studies

• Marxist analysis

• and other stuff

covering topics like

• theories of readership

• domestic abuse of trans women

• consciousness raising and movement building

• trans negativities

• love and loving better as trans women

• bachelorisation and community building

• and more.

I’m not selling it hard, but a lot of the content here has caused so much discussion amongst editors, writers, and activists, and has really rerouted plans and lives and thoughts and perspectives and I’m so glad it gets to be that explosion for you too.

A bigger print run is more efficient, meaning we can maximise author payment.

Do I get a copy for donating?

Email us before September 2025 with some evidence of a donation of at least £20 (£25 for addresses outside the UK) and you'll get

• A copy of issue one as soon as available - This should be about a month before the official release date (1st June, 2025). It will be around the 200 pages mark.

• I'll put some stickers in with it :)

Do I get anything else?

• Email us before September 2025 with some evidence of a donation of at least £1 and you will get an exclusive podcast-style episode with gossip and stories from Writing Badly's first year. This will be send out after printing.
